Your next corporate event – Charter a yacht and cruise the SF Bay!

November 06th, 2010 | Category: NicolePresents Clients, Private Events

NicolePresents recently chartered a private yacht for a cruise around the SF Bay for our client, Tremor Media.  Tremor Media wanted their corporate event to be fun, different, memorable and affordable.  A cruise is a great option for client events especially in October when the weather is so spectacular in the Bay!  In just three short hours you can mingle, eat, drink, dance and set your sights on the beauty of San Francisco.

The yacht that we chose for the excursion was The Empress from Sausalito, a beautiful boat with a very professional, accommodating staff.  We would highly recommend them for another event for their superior customer service, yacht, menu offerings and willingness to negotiate pricing.

Even though The Empress docks in Sausalito they make trips to pick up customers in SF. Our pick up was at Gas Cove in the Marina nearby the Safeway in Fort Mason. There was plenty of parking in this area, so we felt this was a great option and easier than some of the other pick up locations offered by other companies we researched.

As mentioned, one of the many reasons why we chose The Empress over other cruise offerings was for its great menu selection.  We had delicious food from a well rounded menu with items like roasted mission figs wrapped in prosciutto and stuffed with chevre cheese; herb lamb meatballs mixed with array of spices and served with a mint yogurt sauce; and crab cakes seasoned and breaded served with a chive capper aioli.  It’s making my mouth water just writing about it!

Along with the great food, we offered three personalized signature cocktails to the guests to add a hint of corporate branding and identity to the fully hosted bar.

Once the guests were loosened up by the bar we got them moving their feet! We connected with DJ James Gunaca, recommended by our Client, who graced us with a varied mix of downtempo, lounge and of course great house beats for the dance floor.  We’ll definitely keep James in our pocket for future events!

The yacht cruise around the SF Bay was a wonderful success and the Client is already thinking about the next one!

The Services NicolePresents provided for the event were as follows:

  • Event Management and Consultation
  • Event Planning Services:
    • Decor
    • Floral
    • Environment
    • Rentals
    • Catering
    • Staffing
  • Event Production & On Site Management
  • Post Event Evaluation & Financial Reconciliation

Challenges/Solutions:

Venue: The YogaWorks facility was under construction up until the day of the Grand Opening.  Our challenge was to plan the entire event envisioning what it could look like on opening night using just archetictual drawings and keeping informed of developments as variables changed.  The event was seamlessly executed as a result of continuous, detailed client communication, meticulous production plans and CAD drawings that integrated to scale where the rentals would be placed.

Business Philosophy: YogaWorks is a green business thus NicolePresents wanted to match those business  principles with all aspects of the event from catering to design to the way trash was handled.  NicolePresents teamed up with Work of Art Catering, one of the only green certified caterers in San Francisco and was able to align these best practices in all areas of the event.
